| 10:07:09 is
a journey through ambient tech-house. Crave creates a dream-like sensation
with his combination of house rhythms, funk bass lines,
absurd synthetic sounds, and rich chord textures. This
release contains two sets, both of which were performed
and mixed live in one take by Mark Thibideau, the set
entitled 10:07 being more techno influenced,
and the set 07:09 having a deep house flavour. To perform this material, Crave operated his original sounds and MIDI sequences using various synths and samplers and a computer running music sequencing software, mixing the result on a 12 channel mixer with outboard effects. This is one of many possible ways to perform pre programmed electronic music. Crave's approach lends itself to long, drawn out mixes which change the music subtly and gradually. His programming technique allows for a wide range of improvisational possibilities. |
